What does the USB socket on the rear of R2 do?
This answer applies to:
- R2 Mk3
The USB socket on the rear of R2 serves as a USB playback port, so you can load a USB memory stick or portable hard-drive with music to provide hours of uninterrupted listening. USB memory sticks and hard drives should be formatted as FAT32 and the following formats are supported:
AAC up to 320 Kbps
MP3 up to 320 Kbps
WMA up to 320 Kbps
RealAudio up to 64 Kbps
FLAC 1.5 Mbps
LPCM 1.536 Mbps
The USB socket also acts as a charge port so users can conveniently charge most Android and Apple Smartphone’s, but it does not support direct playback from these devices. For this we recommend Bluetooth connection.
