In October 2021, we released R5 MiE, the first model in our Made in England project, a proud milestone uniting us with highly skilled craftspeople to deliver an exceptional level of finish to key products in our range. Unfortunately, Covid and subsequent component shortages forced us to pause the project, but now, as part of our 40th Anniversary celebration, we are delighted to relaunch this project with the unveiling of R810 MiE.

Craftsmanship personified
R810 MiE, showcases the centuries-old art of marquetry. Our patterns are designed to reflect modern life while honouring traditional artisan techniques. Marquetry demands precision and patience. Selected veneers are meticulously cut and arranged before being bonded to the cabinet. Planning is vital to ensure perfect alignment and fit of all the intricate pieces.
A finish created by time
Once the marquetry is bonded, multiple layers of lacquer are applied to both the cabinet and grille, with hand-sanding between coats, creating a lustrous finish that only time can achieve, taking craftsmanship to a new level.
For this first release, we present two exquisite finishes: Penta-Chord Walnut and Leaf-Line Oak. Each piece is unique - like a fingerprint – and to further enhance their exclusivity only 50 pieces of each will ever be produced, each bearing an engraved plaque as proof of authenticity.
Built by hand
The cabinet and grille components are crafted exclusively for us by Storm Furniture, an artisan maker based in Norfolk and proud member of the Guild of Master Craftsmen. Their bespoke work graces fine properties nationwide. After manufacture, each element is carefully transported to our Southend HQ where each R810 MiE is individually assembled by hand and signed-off before testing, and packing.
