Should I be able to hear the R-CD100 while it’s working?
This answer applies to:
- R-CD100
When inserting or ejecting a CD, or skipping tracks, you may hear the internal mechanism operating. However, during playback, the only sound you might notice—if your ear is close to the unit—is the disc spinning.
Due to its CD-to-USB interface, the R-CD100 spins discs at twice the speed of a standard CD player. This faster rotation allows it to read and buffer data ahead of playback, which can produce slightly more mechanical noise. That said, this sound is only noticeable if you're very close to the unit and no audio is playing through the system.
