How do I set-up RS1 for use with R3S?
This answer applies to:
- RS1
As a starting point we recommend setting the crossover frequency on RS1 to around 80-100Hz. By then playing different types of music you should then adjust the subwoofer volume level so it blends seamlessly with your R3S, filling in the low frequencies that R3S can’t produce.
Depending on your room acoustics some experimentation will be required to get the frequency and volume level right, but when set correctly, you should be unaware that your subwoofer is working and it should sound as though all the bass is being produced by R3S. Fine tuning will be down to your own sound preference, but if you are aware that the subwoofer is working then the frequency or volume is set too high. To prove that RS1 is working correctly, all you need to do is turn RS1 on and off whilst listening to a track with good bass content. When off you should hear the scale of sound diminish but restore as soon as power is reapplied.
