Connecting a Bluetooth device to MR1 Mk3

This answer applies to:

  • MR1 Mk3

Many devices including modern TVs are Bluetooth enabled, and it is a quick and convenient way to stream music and sound to MR1.

To connect a Bluetooth device, firstly ensure that the Bluetooth Source on MR1 is selected. This is done by pressing the control knob to scroll through the sources. If no devices are connected, the LED light will flash, indicating that MR1 is awaiting connection.

On the device that you wish to connect, ensure that Bluetooth is enabled and next go into the Bluetooth settings, and you should see Ruark MR1 displayed as a device you can connect to. If Ruark MR1 does not appear within a few seconds, try turning Bluetooth off and on again on your device, which will refresh the search. Once displayed, select Ruark MR1, and your device and MR1 will pair. The Bluetooth LED light will also stop flashing to confirm that a connection has been made.

With a connection established, anything you play on your device will play through MR1. Adjusting the volume on your device will also adjust the volume on MR1 and vice versa.

When returning to Bluetooth from a different source or when switching on from standby, MR1 will automatically try to connect to the last device they were connected to. If the device is not available or switched on, then MR1 will again enter pairing mode and the LED light will flash, until a connection is reestablished.

Please note that you can only have one Bluetooth device connected to MR1 at a time. To connect a new device, you will need to disconnect or turn off the currently paired device.
