8 People, 1 Company, 3 Mountains.
The team consists of Alan, Neil, Richard, Topaz, Jan, Ed, Jason and David, and although we are a sporty bunch, none of us have ever taken on a challenge like this before!
Let’s get down to business…
The National Three Peaks Challenge
The National Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks across England, Scotland and Wales, which are Scafell Pike, Ben Nevis and Snowdonia. The time to complete the challenge varies, but we have chosen to take the tough route and aim to complete all 3 within 24 hours. That’s a total walking distance of 23 miles, a total ascent of 3064 metres (10,052 ft) and a total driving distance of 462 miles – whose idea was this again?!
We will be part of a professionally organised event booked through Adventure Cafe, which means we will have a guide on the mountain just in case it gets a bit rocky… Pun intended! We will also have a driver to escort us in between the mountains, meaning we can attempt to get some well-earned shuteye.
The Why?
I’m sure you’re thinking, but why?! Why would you choose to put yourself through this gruelling activity? Three Peaks has been something a few of us in the office have wanted to do for a long time, as mentioned previously we are all fairly sporty and like to push ourselves towards a challenge. We have a few big birthdays in the office this year for Neil, Richard and Jason, and they all aim to get fit for… let’s just say 21. You’re only as old as you feel right?
Who for?
As this is such a huge accomplishment we have decided to raise money for a fantastic Charity who we have worked with on a few projects in the past, Nordoff Robbins. You may recall our Limited Edition Orange Nordoff Robbin R1s a few years back or seen the Nordoff Robbins branded white R1s, which were signed by a number of great artist’s at the Silver Clef Awards and then auctioned off for this great cause.
Nordoff Robbins is the largest independent music therapy charity in the UK, and they are dedicated to changing the lives of vulnerable and isolated people through the power of music. Not only do they support thousands of people through their own centres, but they also work in partnership with a number of care homes, schools and hospitals. Every £10 donated could pay for a musical instrument, giving non-verbal children and adults the tools to express themselves, every £20 could provide a music therapy group session allowing a person living with dementia the chance to communicate with loved ones, and every £50 could help them bring joy and comfort to a child in hospital with a one-to-one music session.
What’s next?
Now that the challenge is booked, it officially gets real. No more laughing and joking about who’s going to get stuck at the top of the mountain, or who’s going to suffer the most, now we need to sort our training plans and get fit! Over the next 7

Wish us luck!
