I’m not getting any sound when I connect my Ruark to my TV via a HDMI cable!
This answer applies to:
- R410
- R610
- R810
Firstly you must ensure that your TV has a HDMI ARC or eARC output socket and that your Ruark system is connected to this. Many older TVs do not have HDMI ARC sockets and connecting to a standard HDMI socket will not work.
Secondly check your TV sound settings and ensure that these are set to PCM or Stereo and that your TV sound is being directed to HDMI ARC/eARC. If you have a SKY box or anything similar connected to your TV you should also check that the sound output on these devices is also set the same.
Thirdly, if you want your Ruark System to automatically turn on when you turn on your TV, then ensure that ‘Auto Switch’ is selected as an option in the HDMI menu. If this option is not selected, then you will need to change the source manually to HDMI on your Ruark system.
Finally, ensure that you are using a good quality HDMI certified cable. A poor quality or overly long cable can cause variuos audio and connection issues.
