Can I pair a Bluetooth turntable to my Ruark product?

This answer applies to:

  • R2 Mk4
  • R3S
  • MR1 Mk2
  • R410
  • R610
  • R810
  • R5 Mk1

There are many Bluetooth turntables on the market and from our experience pairing these products via Bluetooth can be troublesome and the connection unreliable. Bluetooth turntables feature a Bluetooth transmitter which during pairing searches for available devices within range. As they have no user interface it is not possible to specify which device you wish to pair to and you cannot see the status of the pairing on the turntable. This connection process can cause problems if there are multiple Bluetooth devices within range and make the whole pairing process challenging.

We recommend connecting a turntable to our products with a cable where possible. Connecting with a cable is by far the most stable form of connection and will offer superior sound quality over Bluetooth.

If you are having difficulty pairing your Bluetooth turntable to one of our products the first thing to do is attempt to pair another device, such as a tablet or smartphone to your Ruark unit. If this device connects without issue, then we have ruled out a fault with the Bluetooth receiver on your Ruark product. At this point we advise you reach out to the manufacturer of the Bluetooth turntable for support.
