And with the last few weeks finally feeling more like summer, there couldn’t be a better time to introduce the new eye-catching ‘Beach Hut Blue’ version of our R1 Mk4 model. The striking colourway is the perfect feel-good addition to any home and the portable design means you can take the new R1 with you to deliver summer sounds wherever you travel.
And to further evoke memories of the great British summertime, we have once again teamed up with our local legendary master brewers, Leigh on Sea Brewery, to create a beautiful and unique British craft beer for the summer to match our latest model – introducing the Beach Hut Brew.

Leigh on Sea Brewery has been creating award-winning beer since it began in 2017 and the Beach Hut Brew is our third collaboration together. When we spoke with Ian Rydings, co-founder of the brewery, he shared that “we were really excited when Ruark Audio first approached us a few years ago as we love to brew unique and interesting flavours which reflect the brands that we work with, and we think the Beach Hut Brew is going to be our most successful collaboration yet – we have even said it feels like it’s going to be the beer of the summer already.”

It was important for our Ruark team to create a beer that encapsulated the story behind why we created the Beach Hut Blue R1. We wanted to truly celebrate all the best parts of having a British summer, so decided to go with a different style of beer this time around. “One of the things I really like about this brew is that it’s a New England Pale Ale, a style reminiscent of the sandy beaches of Cape Cod. What could be more suitable for a beer to be enjoyed on the beach whilst listening to some fantastic music?”, shared Ian. “We use El Dorado and Mosaic hops in this recipe which combine to add lovely tropical and stone fruit flavours. We also use oats for an intentional haziness giving the beer a bright sunny yellow appearance.”
As a company that has been born and bred in Southend-on-Sea, working, and supporting local businesses is important to us. Over the years, Southend-on-Sea has come to be quite a hot spot for independent businesses, and as such has become more and more popular as a place to visit. “People come down here from London a lot these days, so it has grown to be quite a popular part of the coast. There feels a real buzz around the town which we love. I’d definitely describe the area as vibrant and lively which is all we can ask for as a small business” says Ian Rydings.

We believe that there is no better place than the seaside for enjoying an ice-cold beer, and Ian also agrees that “the perfect place to enjoy a Beach Hut Brew would definitely be sitting on one of the wharves in Old Leigh when the tide is in (this is very important!) listening to the sound of the waves.”
Beach Hut Brew will be available on draught in the Leigh on Sea Brewery taproom and will also be sold to select pubs in Essex and London throughout the summer months.
R1 Beach Hut Blue will be a limited edition with only 1,000 units available through a select retail network, including Harrods and many other quality independent retailers. The R1 Beach Hut Blue will retail for £239.
