Questions and Answers

I can’t find a specific internet radio station. What can I do?

This answer applies to R2 Mk3 R7 Mk1 R7 Mk3

When searching for an internet radio station on R2 Mk3 and R7 (all versions) you’re actually accessing a database of known stations. This database can be thought of as an “address book” which contains details of each radio station such as the station name and importantly the address (URL) of the media stream.

The sheer number of internet radio stations means that sometimes a station may be missing from this “address book” and in this circumstance, we recommend the best option is to add the station yourself, which can be easily done via our Radio Portal. If you have not already done so, firstly you will need to register your product. Once registered, select “My added stations” on the left and then select “Add another station”.

Here you will need to add the station name, URL, location, Genre and Type. Please note that the URL required is not the URL of the station’s website but rather the URL of the media stream itself. For example:

1.fm Bay Smooth Jazz’s website URL is www.1.fm/station/smoothjazz but the streams URL is http://sc-sjazz.1.fm:9010.

Usually, a station will make the stream URL easily accessible on their website. However, it may be necessary to contact the station you want to listen to if you cannot find it.

Once added the station will be accessible on the internet radio source of your product. Simply select MENU -> Station list -> My Added Stations.
