Due to go on sale next month our all new R7 has received a glowing review from the Mail on Sunday.
Already huge fans of the original R7 the review comments, “The sound has also been completely revamped. I was able to compare the new R7 directly with the old one, and they really have pulled off some serious witchcraft in there. For an all-in-one hi-fi, it sounds sensational.”
The MR1s received a fantastic review from What Hi-Fi magazine back in June and today the highly respected title has awarded them with a “Best Buy” in their Desktop Speaker category for the 2017 awards. Up against some true industry giants we hope the diminutive MR1s hold their own in the Stereo Speaker category and pick up the “Product of Year” award next month.
We are delighted to report that as with our first generation MR1s the team and guru’s at the highly respected What Hi-Fi? magazine have again fallen for our latest generation MR1 awarding them a full 5 stars.
In their final verdict, they say ”The step up in performance is impressive, and the Ruark MR1 Mk2s manage to be even more appealing than before. Quite simply, these are superb speakers of their type”.
We are pleased to report that we now have a software update available for R2 Mk3 which allows access to BBC listen again programs and other features.
In some cases your R2 will detect that a software update is available and prompt you to install, but if this is not the case, through the menu button select ‘system’ and then ‘software update’ which will give you the option to install. Of course you will need R2 connected to your network for installation to take place.
The most important feature of this new update is that it will give you access to the BBC’s library of ‘listen again’ programs, so if you like and missed Johnnie Walker’s ‘Sounds of the 70’s’ on Sunday afternoon, you can now catch up whenever you want. The update also gives R2 owners access to higher quality internet radio streams, so you can be assured of the best possible sound quality at all times.
Please note that as this software upgrade is quite major, that it will delete any internet radio presets that you may have saved. We are sorry about this but we hope customers will forgive this minor inconvenience in light of the benefits it brings.
We are delighted to have teamed up with revered DJ, producer and record label owner Martin Buttrich for a limited edition run of our multi-award winning MR1 Bluetooth speakers.
Martin is an expert in sound technology; when people say “Martin Buttrich’s music sounds amazing”, they’re not just talking about the catchiness of his compositions or the way he manipulates beats into unique tapestries. His skills with a sonic scalpel – that esoteric ability to navigate the spectrum of audible (and inaudible) frequencies – have given him cachet among sound engineers. Martin has put his sonic thumbprint on many big ticket artists, notably receiving a Grammy nomination for a Tori Amos remix in 2003 as well as 100+ productions and remixes covering everyone from Madonna, Muse, Fatboy Slim, Bootsy Collins, Tom Jones, Kelis, Moloko, Depeche Mode and Placebo.
Martin explained why he wanted to put his name to our MR1 speaker system:
“When I first plugged into these Ruark Audio MR1s I was astonished at what I heard! A friend had suggested I try them out and I was completely blown away that this small speaker sounded so clear and precise. They are built with a quality level that demands they belong in a professional studio and have become something I rely on as an extra pair of reference speakers for the music I create. Their size and weight is perfect for when you’re on the road and want to continue to be productive, with a familiar reference. With all my travelling it allows me to continue my studio work from a hotel, house, apartment and beyond.”
