When our products are first powered up from new, they automatically scan the DAB network to see which services are available.
During scanning it is important that the radio is not touched and that the telescopic aerial is correctly fitted and fully extended. If this is not done, then it is likely that not all stations will be detected and only the strong ones displayed. To correct this a new AutoScan/AutoTune or Factory Reset should be performed.
Also with R1 Mk4 you need to ensure that you have enabled DAB in the set-up process. If not you will need to factory reset your R1 Mk4 and repeat the set-up process again.
Like TVs, radios require a good quality signal for them to work properly. In most cases and areas the supplied telescopic aerial will work fine, but if you live in a remote area or a building of steel construction or with dense walls, then you should consider the fitting of an external aerial for best reception quality. Even in good reception areas an external aerial is often a good investment as this will provide best performance and will allow you to access stations which are out for range for an indoor aerial.
